Gary J. Long was first introduced to the jewelry business while caddying for a Sacramento Jeweler as a teenager. After graduating from Sacramento State University with a degree in business administration, he managed several jewelry stores until finally opening his very own in Lincoln Center in March of 1983. Gary J. Long Jewelers moved to its current and newly-renovated location in 1989.
Gary is a Registered Jeweler (RJ) and past Board of Directors member with the American Gem Society (AGS). He continues to educate himself through numerous courses with the Gemological Institute of America and AGS. He is a past president of the California Jewelers Association (CJA) and was a member of the Jewelers of America Affiliate Council. Gary is very active in the Stockton community and has served as president of both the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce and Stockton Sunrise with Rotary International, on the Board of Directors at Farmers & Merchants Bank, and is involved with United Cerebral Palsy and March of Dimes. He is married and has three children and six grandchildren.
Born and raised in the tech-savvy city of San Jose, California, Lisa-Marie Delgado—simply known as Lisa—currently calls Stockton her home. She's the youngest of three siblings and the doting "mom" to Oliver, her charming Dachshund.
Lisa's formal education concluded with her high school diploma from Ponderosa High School in Shingle Springs. But her learning didn't stop there; her career path shaped her skill set in unique and enriching ways. Starting in retail right after graduation, she was soon recruited by Washington Mutual to train as a bank teller. She transitioned with the company through its buyout by Chase, and eventually left to work at a smaller bank, absorbing invaluable on-the-job knowledge along the way.
In the past three years, Lisa has become an integral part of the Gary J. Long Jewelers team as an Administrative Assistant. Her typical workday is a mix of hands-on and interpersonal activities. From meticulously placing jewelry back into the store cases, checking emails for custom orders and training opportunities, to overseeing quality control for repair work—her days are far from monotonous. She finds great satisfaction in building rapport with clients, going above and beyond to make their day special.
Perhaps the most fulfilling aspect of Lisa's role is the emotional significance attached to the items that clients entrust to her. One incident that stands out was her interaction with a client who came in to have her mother's ring cleaned. The mother had recently passed away, and the ring was a cherished keepsake. The emotional weight of this simple task was not lost on Lisa, and she was moved by the client's tearful appreciation for the loving care she'd provided.
Before joining Gary J. Long Jewelers, Lisa worked as a Brand Manager, Public Relations Officer, Webstore/Wholesale Manager, and Social Media Manager for Breezy Excursion, a clothing brand based in San Jose.
When she's not at work, Lisa is deeply involved in her personal passions. Family comes first, but she's also enamored by the music and art industry, often spotted at concerts or in a recording studio managing an artist. In fact, she also serves as a brand consultant for a recording artist, assisting with his online store and artist merchandise. Additionally, she enjoys curating events, from concerts to art galleries.
Lisa's life is a rich tapestry of varied experiences, each contributing to who she is today—a dedicated professional, a nurturing family member, and a vibrant individual with an enduring love for music and art.
